Conservation tillage boosts corn and soybean yields in Northeast China.
Conservation tillage practices were tested on black soil in Northeast China to see how they affect crop yields. The study found that using conservation tillage did not decrease corn yield, with an average of 10,507 kg/ha compared to 10,196 kg/ha with traditional ploughing. Additionally, soybean yield was higher under no-tillage, averaging 2,777 kg/ha more than with traditional ploughing. This suggests that conservation tillage and no-tillage practices can help maintain or increase crop yields in black soil areas of Northeast China.
