Zen aesthetics is an important part of ancient Chinese and global aesthetics. Recent studies have focused on the connection between Zen and traditional Chinese art forms, especially literature and art. Scholars are now using Western philosophy and psychology in their research, moving away from the traditional intuitive approach. However, the research methods and perspectives in Zen aesthetic studies are limited.
