Rural Water Quality in Shunde District Shows Room for Improvement
The goal of the study was to check the quality of drinking water in rural areas of Shunde district from 2006 to 2009. The researchers tested the source water, finished water, and water at the end of the treatment process. They found that the overall passing rate of drinking water was 86.01%, with the finished and terminal water both at 100%. However, the source water had a passing rate of only 58.04%, with issues like high iron levels and coliform bacteria. The study concluded that while the drinking water in rural areas of Shunde is generally safe, there is a need to improve the protection of source water and address the issues found in the testing to ensure the quality of the water supplied.
