New seismic analysis predicts distribution of valuable gas reservoirs in Dixi area
The researchers studied volcanic rocks in Dixi area to predict their distribution for oil exploration. They identified different types of igneous rocks using core samples and seismic data, finding volcanic channel, eruption, overflow, sedimentary, and intrusive facies. The Northwest has mainly intermediate-basic overflow facies, while the Southeast has intermediate-acid overflow facies. Eruption and volcanic sedimentary facies are common in the middle of Dixi area, with a separate intrusive body in Dixi 18 well block.
