Splitting oocytes boosts IVF success rates, reduces genetic risks for offspring.
The study looked at using both conventional IVF and ICSI in one cycle to improve fertilization rates. They split oocytes into two parts and found that for cycles with low fertilization rates in conventional IVF, using ICSI on some oocytes led to higher fertilization rates. This approach reduced the risk of fertilization failure and could be beneficial for couples with specific fertility issues. The clinical pregnancy rate was 32%, showing promise for this combined method.
