Forests in Heilongjiang Province Absorb Billions in Carbon, Boosting Climate Fight
The study looked at how forests in Heilongjiang Province help absorb carbon dioxide, a key contributor to climate change. By analyzing the amount of carbon stored in these forests, the researchers found that state-owned forests in the region lock in around 0.920 billion tons of carbon. This equates to approximately 107.28465 billion Chinese dollars in value. The study's focus was on understanding and quantifying the carbon storage capacity of these forests to evaluate their economic importance in tackling climate change.
