Climate change leads to increased evaporation in Shaanxi Province, impacting water resources.
Pan evaporation in the Weihe River Basin of Shaanxi Province increased over the past 30 years, especially in North Shaanxi Province from 1993 to 2002. Evaporation decreased in autumn but rose in spring, summer, and winter. The rise in evaporation was mainly due to higher temperatures, more sunlight, and less precipitation.
