Solar Greenhouses Struggle to Sustain Crops in Severe Winters, Highlighting Need for Improved Designs
The study looked at how well a solar greenhouse in Alar City performed during harsh winters when growing veggies. The greenhouse did a good job of trapping heat and taking in light. But during the super chilly times, the temperature and light inside weren't enough for warm-loving and light-needing plants. The temperature inside depended on the outside temperature, and they both followed similar patterns. The brightness inside and outside changed together, and the swing in brightness inside was less than outside the greenhouse.
