The article presents a new method for accurately separating small objects from their background in images. By comparing the sizes of the objects and their surroundings, the method calculates the best threshold for segmentation. Different formulas are used for analyzing histograms in one or two dimensions to achieve this. The researchers tested their method against other popular algorithms and found that it performed better in accurately segmenting small objects and resisting noise interference.
