Organic Fertilizer Boosts Tobacco Quality, Alters Plant Characteristics and Chemistry.
Organic fertilizer affects tobacco growth and quality. It makes plants shorter with fewer leaves but heavier leaves. Upper leaves have lower yield. Using organic fertilizer improves tobacco quality, making it more mature with better microstructure and oil content compared to chemical fertilizer. It increases nitrogen and alkaloid content, decreases sugar content in upper leaves, and raises chlorine content. Smoking quality remains the same or slightly decreases.
