Improving Rural Drinking Water Quality in Shanghai Through Intensive Management
The goal was to check the quality of drinking water in rural areas of Jiading, Shanghai in 2006. Water samples were collected from water plants and taps, then analyzed. Most people drank surface water, with a small percentage drinking groundwater. The water quality in centralized systems was good, with surface water being treated. Groundwater was treated for iron and manganese. Both source and treated water quality improved. It's crucial to manage drinking water well to ensure it's safe in rural areas.
