Declining heavy rain in Tianjin leads to increased drought risk.
The study looked at how much it rained during flood season in Tianjin from 1951 to 2012. They found that total rainfall during flood season didn't change much, but heavy rain decreased a lot. The number of rainy days also went down, especially light rain days. The intensity of rain didn't show a clear trend. The recent dry weather in Tianjin is mostly because there are fewer rainy days, even though a few heavy rain events can still bring a lot of rain.
