Ecosystem health in Lake Taihu was assessed using different methods to understand how well the lake is functioning and providing services. The study found that the east part of the lake had the best ecosystem health, while the center and west parts were not as healthy. The health of the lake decreased from southeast to northwest. This information can help guide environmental management and set standards for evaluating similar lakes.
