Toxic Runoff Pollutes Hangzhou's Streets, Endangering Public Health
The study looked at how different types of areas in Hangzhou city affect water quality after rainfall. They found that pollutant levels in runoff were highest at the beginning of rainfall and then stabilized. Traffic areas had the highest pollution load, followed by industrial, commercial, and residential areas. This shows that the type of land use in an area can impact the amount of pollution in the water.
