Regulation measures proposed to prevent river bed changes in Yellow River.
The researchers analyzed the changes in a river area near Lijiaxia Reservoir in the Yellow River. They used a mathematical model to study how to regulate a separating shoal called Ashigong. The main channel of the shoal changed a lot in 1996, 1999, and 2000 due to river bed relaxation and sand movement. The researchers suggest blocking a tributary, strengthening the main stream, protecting the bank bar, and dredging to fix the main channel.
