Annual precipitation in Songhua River Basin decreasing, floods becoming more severe.
The study looked at how rainfall patterns in the Songhua River Basin changed from 1958 to 2009. They found that overall, annual rainfall decreased slightly over this time period. Rainfall was highest in the summer months, with June to August being the wettest. The concentration of rainfall was high, with most of it falling between July 20th and 26th. The northern part of the basin had a longer concentrated period of rainfall compared to the southern part.
