The study analyzed China's textile and apparel industries to see how competitive they are in international trade. They found that while China's textile and apparel industries are becoming more competitive globally, the level of trade within the industry is still low. Most of the trade is between different industries rather than within the same industry. Different products within the textile industry have varying levels of competitiveness, with textile materials being weaker compared to apparel. Overall, the study suggests that China's textile and apparel industries need to focus on improving intra-industry trade to enhance their competitiveness in the global market.
