The study analyzed energy consumption trends in Shandong Province from 1980 to 2012. They found that energy use grew significantly during this time, with coal playing a major role. Industrial and transportation sectors were the biggest energy consumers. Shifts in energy use towards cleaner sources like electricity were noted. The increase in energy consumption had negative impacts on energy security and the environment, leading to higher carbon emissions. Key factors influencing energy consumption patterns included resource availability, economic growth, and energy efficiency. The study suggests the need to overhaul energy consumption patterns in Shandong Province for a more sustainable future.
