The article discusses ways to reduce water drainage costs in Xiaqiao coal mine by using an under mine storage-drainage system. Two methods for calculating the number of drainage holes are compared, with the hydraulics method being more accurate but lacking safety considerations. It is suggested that both methods should be used together and safety factors should be taken into account for optimal results.
