New Study Reveals Hormone Changes in Poplar Trees Could Boost Growth.
The study looked at how the levels of three hormones in Populus yunnanensis cuttings changed during different growth stages. They found that ABA and IAA levels increased over time, while ZR levels initially rose and then dropped, peaking during dormancy. The ratios of ZR to ABA, ZR to IAA, and ZR to (ABA+IAA) all followed a similar pattern, reaching their highest points during dormancy. These hormone levels varied significantly between the stages studied.
