New Extra-Early Maize Hybrid Tezao 2 Promises High Yields and Disease Resistance.
A new maize hybrid called Tezao 2 was created by combining two inbred lines. It matures early and needs a certain amount of accumulated temperature to grow well. Tezao 2 showed high yield and quality in different areas during 2009-2010. It also has good disease resistance, can withstand lodging, and has high starch content. The plant populations needed were between 60,000-67,500 per hectare, and both male and female seeds were planted at the same time for seed production.
