Urban agglomeration in Liaoning Province sees dramatic city-size distribution changes.
The study analyzed how cities in the middle and south of Liaoning Province have changed in size and distribution since 1982. They found that big cities have grown larger, while medium and small cities have not grown as much. The number of cities has increased, and the biggest cities are becoming less dominant. The differences in city sizes are becoming more balanced. To improve the situation, the researchers suggest focusing on developing coastal cities, improving transportation, and transforming mining cities.
