Revival of Traditional Clan Societies Reshaping Modern Chinese Communities.
Recent studies on clan societies since the late Qing Dynasty have shown significant progress in the last decade. Researchers have published books on changes in clan society, modernization of clans, and urban clans. They have also focused on studying clans in regions like the Yangtze River, Fujian, Guangdong, and Anhui provinces, improving the understanding of modern clans. Scholars have shown interest in studying clans in North China and the Hakka community. Anthropologists have mainly studied contemporary clans, with a particular focus on clan and village self-government.
