The study looked at how different planting densities affect the yield and quality of three types of maize hybrids. They found that the yield varied significantly between the maize hybrids and planting densities tested. The best planting density for the maize hybrids was 63 thousand plants per hectare. The interaction between the maize hybrids and planting densities had a big impact on the protein content of the maize seeds. Starch content varied significantly between different planting densities, while soluble sugar content varied significantly between the maize hybrids.
