Northeast China's Uneven Urbanization Leaves Border Cities Behind
The article evaluates the quality of urbanization in Northeast China by looking at social, economic, and spatial aspects. Using a set of criteria and statistical methods, the researchers studied 34 cities in the region. They found that urbanization quality in Northeast China is generally low, with Liaoning and Jilin provinces focusing more on government-led urbanization, while Heilongjiang province leans towards economic-driven urbanization. Core cities along the Harbin-Dalian economic corridor have higher urbanization quality compared to border cities.
