Boosting nitrogen levels in sugarcane leads to higher crop yields
The study looked at how different amounts of nitrogen fertilizer affect the growth of sugarcane plants. They found that sugarcane gets most of its nitrogen from the soil and seeds, with only a small portion coming from the fertilizer. Increasing the nitrogen fertilizer led to more growth in the plants, but also decreased the efficiency of nitrogen use. The best amount of fertilizer was 5.0g per pot, applied at a depth of 20cm in the soil.
