New varieties of willow trees, Jinsi weeping willow and Su willow, were introduced through hybridization. After a 2-year trial, it was found that both species can grow well in the local climate without needing protection. Jinsi weeping willow has better characteristics for seeding and ornamental value, making it suitable for urban greening. On the other hand, Su willow grows quickly and is resistant to cold, drought, and salt to some extent, making it a good choice for timber and protection forests in the region.
