Altitude Dictates Vegetation Distribution in Loess Plateau Watershed.
The study looked at how the terrain affects where different types of plants grow in a small area on the Loess Plateau. By using maps and analyzing the land's altitude, slope, aspect, and terrain niche, the researchers found that altitude is the main factor influencing vegetation patterns. Bushes prefer higher altitudes with moderate slopes, while grasslands like lower altitudes with steeper slopes. Artificial grasslands thrive at higher altitudes with gentler slopes, while arable land and orchards do best at lower altitudes with gentle slopes. This information can help with restoring vegetation and managing the environment in a more eco-friendly way.
