Yellow River Delta Coast Erosion Slowing Down, Human Activity Impactful.
The modern Yellow River delta has been changing due to erosion and silting-up. Different coastal sections have varying rates of erosion and deposition. The delta has been advancing towards the east by north, forming subdeltas. The coast can be divided into 7 sections with different erosion or deposition rates. Human activities are affecting the coastline changes. In the next 10 years, the erosion and deposition situations of the sections are expected to remain similar, but the rates of retreating and silting-up will slow down gradually.
