Magnesium deficiency stunts plant growth and photosynthesis, impacting food production.
The study looked at how different levels of magnesium affected the growth and photosynthesis of two types of sunflower seedlings. They found that not enough magnesium led to lower chlorophyll levels and decreased photosynthesis, while too much magnesium also had negative effects. The best growth and photosynthesis were seen with moderate levels of magnesium. One of the sunflower varieties performed better overall than the other in terms of chlorophyll content, photosynthesis, and growth.
