White LED lighting efficiency boosted by improving red emission in phosphor.
The research looked at how the brightness and color of white LED lights are affected by the materials used and the temperature and current they operate at. White LEDs made with phosphor are more efficient than those made with three colors. As the LED gets hotter from more current, the light it gives off changes to more blue and becomes less efficient. To make white LEDs better, they should be kept cool and run at lower currents. Adding more red light can improve the color quality of the light.
