They found that there is a stable relationship between income and consumption, with income leading to increased spending. The researchers also discovered that any short-term differences between income and spending quickly adjust to reach a long-term balance. To boost consumption among urban residents in Shaanxi Province, the government should focus on increasing residents' income and finding ways to control future spending increases.
