These grasslands also act as a genetic bank for alpine species, supporting agriculture and economic growth in the Tibetan region. A survey found that the total ecological value of natural grasslands in Qinghai is 4068.03×108 yuan/year, with the value of their ecological functions being about 3948.90×108 Yuan/year. This means that the ecological functions of these grasslands are 17.60 times more valuable than their direct economic benefits.
