Rising pan evaporation in Sichuan Basin linked to changing climate.
The study analyzed pan evaporation changes in the Sichuan Basin from 1980 to 2010. Results showed that pan evaporation varied across different areas, with the largest in midland Sichuan Basin and the smallest in the eastern valley area. Overall, pan evaporation increased over the years, especially in autumn and winter. Factors like sunshine duration, wind speed, vapor pressure, and air temperature influenced pan evaporation, with sunshine duration having the biggest impact. Air temperature, on the other hand, reduced pan evaporation.
