Conservation tillage boosts cotton yield, reduces production costs in Gorgan.
The study looked at how different ways of preparing soil affect cotton growth after growing canola in Gorgan. They tested five tillage methods and three cotton varieties. The results showed that using chisel and disk tillage led to higher cotton yields compared to ploughing or no-tillage. One cotton variety, Siokra324, produced the most cotton. No-tillage had lower yields but smaller plants, so increasing plant density could help boost yields. It's suggested to further study different plant densities in no-tillage and conservation tillage to replace traditional ploughing.
