Durian peel activated carbon boosts water purification with superior properties!
Researchers investigated making activated carbon from durian peels using CO2. They compared two methods: nitrogen pyrolysis and vacuum pyrolysis. Vacuum pyrolysis produced better activated carbon with higher surface area and adsorption capacities. Treating the activated carbon with HCl increased its surface area and pore volume without changing its functional groups.
