Rescue ICSI boosts success rates in IVF cycles with fertilization failure.
The study looked at using rescue intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) to help when fertilization fails during IVF cycles. They found that after rescue ICSI, the normal fertilization rate was 42.7%, with a good-quality embryo rate of 29.7%. Clinical pregnancy was achieved in 18.8% of cases. The success of rescue ICSI may depend on the number and maturity of eggs retrieved.
