Optimum N and Si levels boost rice yield after watermelon cropping.
Silicate fertilization (SF) and nitrogen (N) levels were studied to improve rice yield after growing watermelon in Korea. The researchers found that using 50% N and 200% Si levels resulted in the highest grain yield. They also discovered that reducing N fertilizer by 50% compared to the recommended amount, while using specific N and Si combinations, can sustain rice growth and yield after watermelon cultivation.
