People Value Money Over Personal Data, Study Finds.
The study looked at how people value their personal information. They offered participants money to protect their data or to sell it. Most people preferred money over keeping their information private. Even when the amount of money involved was very small, participants still chose money. On average, people were willing to accept much more money to sell their information than they were willing to pay to protect it. This shows that people generally value money more than their personal data.
