New study reveals key to bending strength of MoS2 material
Researchers used simulations to study how single layer MoS2 bends. They found that a method called four-point bending is the most accurate for measuring its stiffness. When the bending radius is large, different methods give the same stiffness. Small nanotubes cannot accurately measure the stiffness. New potentials can predict the bending stiffness of MoS2 accurately. The thickness of MoS2 affects its bending stiffness.
