The researchers studied how different ratios of nitrogen fertilizer affect the yield of a hybrid rice variety. They found that when the ratio of base and tillering nitrogen fertilizer to panicle nitrogen fertilizer was 5:5, the rice had the highest yield per area. This ratio also resulted in the best economic traits and upper leaf characteristics.
