The researchers analyzed wind resources in Korea using data from 457 weather stations. They found that wind speed is highest near the coast, mountains, and islands. Summer winds are weaker, except for strong southwesterly winds in Gyeongnam. Night-time winds decrease, especially on the west coast. Not all coastal or high-altitude areas have strong winds. The best locations for wind energy are Gosan in Jeju Island and Mt. Gudeok in Busan.
