The scientists made new materials by mixing PEEK with Ti3SiC2 to see how well they resist wear and tear. They found that adding more Ti3SiC2 made the materials better at resisting wear. The Ti3SiC2 helped make a slippery layer that reduced friction and protected the materials from damage.
