Shade-loving plant thrives under summer sun, unlocking higher photosynthesis rates.
Gynostemma pentaphyllum, a plant, was studied under shade and full sunlight conditions. In the shade, its photosynthesis peaked at midday, while under sunlight, it had two peaks. Photosynthesis was higher in shade than in sunlight. Light intensity affected photosynthesis positively, while humidity had a small effect. Stoma conductance mainly influenced transpiration. This plant prefers shade and light should be considered when growing it.
