Cloud manufacturing is a new way of organizing manufacturing services using a networked approach. The goal of this paper was to develop a method for organizing different types of manufacturing resources into services for cloud manufacturing. The researchers looked at different ways to structure these services and came up with a three-step method for organizing them. They identified four main categories of manufacturing resources - intelligence, knowledge, tools, and capacity - and described how these resources can be dynamically provisioned as services with clear interfaces for cloud manufacturing.
