Antagonistic battle between lead and zinc in plants revealed!
Lead and zinc ions in plants from Czestochowa – Mirow district were studied. The researchers found that when zinc levels increased, lead uptake in plants decreased. This antagonistic relationship was observed in roots, stems, and flowers at different zinc concentrations. The study confirmed that high zinc levels led to a decrease in lead accumulation in plants. The extent of this antagonism varied depending on the plant species.
