A system was developed in Thailand to manage hazardous waste from places like auto shops, hospitals, and homes. A survey found that over 300 million kilograms of hazardous waste is produced each year. This waste includes things like used oils, batteries, and cleaning chemicals. Most of this waste is not handled properly, which can harm people and the environment. Data was used to create a map showing where waste problems are worst, so solutions can be focused there. The solution includes using special facilities to burn, stabilize, or bury the waste safely.
