New Breast Cancer Prognostic Models Improve Survival Predictions Over Time.
Three different models were tested to predict breast cancer prognosis using tumor size, mitotic activity index (MAI), and lymph node status. The models gave similar survival predictions at two years but varied more at 5 and 9 years. MAI alone had less consistent predictions. The multivariate models grouped patients more reliably than single features. The models were easy to use, but may not be widely adopted in hospitals.
