New discovery in pea chloroplasts could revolutionize green energy production!
Two forms of a protein called ferredoxin were studied in bean chloroplasts to see how they affect electron transport. Both forms, Fd I and Fd II, help move electrons from one part of the chloroplast to another. Fd I is better at moving electrons back to where they started. The researchers found that Fd I and Fd II have different roles in controlling electron transport in the chloroplasts.
