New Technology Promises Cleaner Air by Removing SOx and NOx
Coal-fired power plants produce harmful gases that pollute the air. Scientists are working on ways to remove these gases, called SO2 and NOX, from the smokestacks. They have made progress in developing technologies to clean up the gases, and these methods are being used in some places already. In the future, these technologies will continue to improve, helping to reduce air pollution from power plants.
